Sudoku is one of the most popular puzzle games of all time. And it's very simple: fill the 9×9 grid so every row, column, and 3×3 block shows each digit from 1 through 9 exactly once. As you chip away at the clues, you'll give your brain a serious logic workout. Stick with it daily and you'll notice sharper focus and quicker thinking before you know it. Ready to dive in? This Japanese classic needs no math wizardry, just clear thinking and patience. Learn more about Sudoku. Each game starts with a partially filled grid, and everything else comes down to pure logic.
How to play Sudoku
The goal of Sudoku is to fill in a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, row, and 3×3 section contain the numbers between 1 to 9. At the beginning of the game, the 9×9 grid will have some of the squares filled in. Your job is to use logic to fill in the missing digits and complete the grid. Don't forget, a move is incorrect if:
- Any row contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
- Any column contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
- Any 3×3 grid contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9

Sudoku is a fun puzzle game once you get the hang of it. At the same time, learning to play Sudoku can be a bit intimidating for beginners. So, if you are a complete beginner, here are a few Sudoku tips that you can use to improve your Sudoku skills.
- Scan rows, columns, or 3×3 blocks that already hold five or more numbers. The unused digits often have only one possible spot.
- Mentally split the board into three vertical bands and three horizontal bands. If two copies of a digit already sit in the same band, the third copy must land in the only 3×3 block left in that band. Check the empty cells there to nail the exact square.
